Tasting Room staff/wine guide
Description:
This position is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience at Painted Prairie Vineyard. The candidate must have a passion for wine and for learning the details of the wines we produce and our general operations.
Responsibilities include: Greeting customers promptly and courteously; guiding customers to wines they enjoy; setting up and cleaning up daily operations and special events; stocking wine and retail merchandise in the tasting room; accurately performing daily wine inventory and money handling procedures. Promotes the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room. Describes wines, winemaking techniques, winery history and provides general tourist information. Candidate must complete the Minnesota Server’s training or be able to complete it upon hire. Experience with Minnesota or Cold Hardy wines is desirable.
Qualifications:
· Able to work a flexible schedule
· High school diploma or equivalent and/or qualified experience required
· Retail experience a plus
· Professional appearance and demeanor
· Able to lift up to 40 pounds
· Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for up to 8 hours a day
· Must work weekends, holidays and evenings
· Background check required.
· Must be 18 years of age or older; 21 desirable.

Part Time
Line cook/prep cook
Description:
The line cook position at Painted Prairie performs various food preparation, cooking and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for customers. Their duties and responsibilities include:
– Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager
– Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
– Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
– Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
– Parboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in various dishes
– Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
– Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
– Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply
Expectations:
– 2-3 days per week; flexible for weekend during the busy season (May-October)
– Garbage is removed from kitchen at the end of each shift and properly disposed of.
– Handwashing and proper sanitary food handling practices are executed.
– Items are properly labeled with date and portioned to support service execution.
– Dishes and dishware used for prep are washed and sanitized.
– Follow recipes developed by Chef and Kitchen Manager.
– Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen at the end of each shift.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Seasonal Part Time
MAINTENANCE & GROUNDSKEEPING
This position is responsible for performing regular routine tasks required to maintain and care for the property of Painted Prairie Vineyard, care for grape vines and work in all vineyard and horticulture operations, and support of the Vineyard’s yearly corn maze.
Responsibilities include: Landscaping, vineyard maintenance; spring pruning to fall harvest support; basic construction and repair of buildings and equipment; event set-up and support; special project requests; creating a safe and respectful work environment following all safety rules and employment policies.
Job Description Details:
- Excellent people skills; able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times
- Able to perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Work onsite for special event set-up or tear down on nights and weekends
- Work in a team environment and open to performing other duties as assigned
- This position reports directly to the owners of Painted Prairie Vineyard
- May be assigned other tasks or be asked to participate in other activities both on site and off site as needed.

Seasonal Part Time
GLAMPING SITE HOUSEKEEPER
HOURS PER WEEK
Range from 10-20 per week. Must have flexible work schedule and available during the hours of 12-3 p.m. May-October.
GENERAL DUTIES
Housekeepers are responsible for the overall cleanliness and flipping of the glampsites at Painted Prairie, including the public space areas and bathroom trailer. All areas should be efficiently cleaned within the allotted times while providing great guest service.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Create and monitor inventory of sheets, towels, and other glamping essentials on daily/weekly basis. • Perform the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning programs for specific buildings and facilities as outlined by immediate supervisor or owner(s). • Responsible for ensuring bathroom checks, enlisting support from other staff as needed. • Use appropriate cleaning chemicals on appropriate items and only as trained. Do not mix chemicals together or use straight out of original bottle. Must use appropriate safety measures such as gloves. • Be aware of blood borne pathogen procedures and contact supervisor when needed. • Bring all lost and found items to the main tasting room with glamping site and date on them. If it is something valuable, it needs to be given directly to the owners to ensure it is locked up immediately. • Provide excellent and friendly guest service by being attentive, responsive and helpful to all guest’s needs. Greet the guests at every opportunity by demonstrating a friendly welcome. • Present a positive impression with a well-groomed appearance, smiles and proper Painted Prairie shirt and name tag. • Submit a list of supplies (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, cleaning supplies and equipment, etc.) that need to be replenished on an as-needed basis to the owner(s). • Report all broken or damaged items within all Painted Prairie buildings, facilities and premises. • Report all customer problems, requests or complaints to the owners and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible. • This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Basic reading abilities • Must be attentive to detail • Ability to work under wet and slippery conditions • Basic knowledge of safety procedures including chemical properties, handling, and usage • Must be able to work daytime hours, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds regularly • Able to push and/or pull approximately100 pounds • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance • Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel • Long periods of standing, bending, kneeling and walking • Able to work inside and outdoors frequently and in various climates • Capable of moving safely over uneven terrain.
